Never eat a wild mushroom on this app’s say-so. It only says where conditions suit a species. Confirm every find with a field guide or an experienced local forager, and if in doubt, throw it out. Photos come from iNaturalist and are credited to each photographer.

What's real: the map, forest and meadow boundaries (OpenStreetMap), the tree species mix in central Ontario (Natural Resources Canada's 2011 forest inventory maps, 250 m detail, from Georgian Bay to Kingston and Lake Ontario to Algonquin), and the last 14 days of rain and temperature (Environment Canada's GEM model via Open‑Meteo).
What's assumed: outside that area, tree species. OpenStreetMap only records broadleaf, conifer or mixed, so each type there uses a typical central‑Ontario mix. The species map is a 2011 satellite‑based estimate, good for the overall mix but not individual trees. The mushroom thresholds are starting estimates.
